Please help to save Pound lane and Tai Ping Shan Area - Pound Lane Escalator Project

Please help to mobilize people for this public forum: http://en.poundlane.hk/consultation.php

The government together with DAB are going to build an escalator in the Tai ping Shan and pound lane area, transforming it into a Soho or star street. HK is going to lose the unique charm and character on this last remaining local neighborhood.

This escalator is the project from Kathy Siu Ka-yi of DAB. They are probably planning it because of the new Swire developments in Caine road. They had a online public consultation before, but the results were probably against it, so the HK government never published it. Now they are doing this new consultation just before the public holiday and long weekend in a limited space of 200 people. DAB will probably fill it with their followers.

We are trying to mobilize people to show at this public forum on April 30th thought the fb page “Pound Lane Concern Group”. The more people show up, the more we can show to the government that we do not want an escalator there.

That's why we need your help to bring this issue to people. The government is very smart and chose a date just before the public holiday and long weekend to do it.

I don't know if you have been in the Tai Ping Shan and Pound Lane area, but it is very unique in HK, because of this charm and historical value. An escalator in pound lane would destroy all this, like happened in Soho and High street before. It will only serve Swire, landlords and government interest.

This is one of the few places we have a sense of community in HK.

How many more SOHOs, Star Streets, bars and franchised restaurants do we need? Please help us to mobilize more people for the public forum on April 30th.
