Hi there,

The old railway bridges along the line were iron bridges which rattles when the trains went past them.  I am uncertain if there are any of those iron bridges left today.

There is mention further along in the book of the bridge being blown up by the "East River Brigade", but actually Wordie notes that it was the Argyle Street bridge (slightly further north) which was blown up - perhaps I misread that bit in the Booth book?

The East River Brigade was a Communist-funded guerrilla group who worked closely with the British Army Aid Group (BAAG) during the Japanese occupation.

There is a monument to the East River Brigade in Sai Kung.
