Kleber E M Caudron, was known as Maurice Caudron and was the Proprietor of K Caudron & Co.  The company was trading with exotic goods between France and Hong Kong eg: textiles, perfumes, ornaments etc.  K. Caudron & Co. was registered in HK as a private company on 18 March 1964 and dissolved on 8 December 2005.

Maurice arrived in HK via Singapore where prior to WWII he had begun a similar enterprise without much success.  He arrived in Hong Kong some time between late 1920s-early 1930s with his young family and established a trading business there with much more success.  Maurice was fluent in several languages.

Maurice Caudron was born in Marest-Dampcourt, Chauny, Picardie, France and retained the family property until his death there in 1973.  He lived both in France and Hong Kong, chosing in latter years to spend the summers in France. He was married to Marcelle Hammercart and they had three daughters. His second daughter, Helene Marie, married Roland Henry John Brooks in HK in 1939 at The Rosary Church, Kowloon.

During WWII he was not incarcerated as were the other Europeans and was able to get the occasional food parcel to his son-in-law who was in Stanley Prison Camp. His daughter Helene had been evacuated to Sydney for the duration of the war.

On 3 November 1959 he divorced Marcelle and on 25 July 1961 married Leung Tak Wah (aka Peggy) in Paris.  Peggy was actively involved in the running of his company. They had an apartment in Robinson Road, Victoria.
