Based on IDJ's s photo (http://gwulo.com/atom/21064 "c' is The Cliffs), this house was not part of the 1986 Cloudlands redevelopment. It was, however, demolished in the 1997 redevelopment and now there are two houses in its place that are also called The Cliffs.
This second-generation house might not have been taipan house after the retirment of Sir J A H Saunders. A mid-1970s Hong Kong $ Directory indicated that the bank's "General Manager, International" lived at the The Cliffs, 37 Plantation Road.
General Manager, International would have been 3rd or 4th most senior executive position after: 1) Chief Manager / Chairman ; 2) Deputy Chairman ; 3) possibly General Manager, Hong Kong. The Chairman / Chief Mgr and Deputy Chairman houses might have moved to Pollock's Path.
