I'm looking for photos / sketches / portraits of him for the CPS project's history book.
The Dictionary of Hong Kong Biography gives dates of birth & death, and that he was appointed a Hong Kong cadet in 1882. It says he had many different roles in Hong Kong's civil service - it looks as though he filled-in if there was a gap, but didn't settle in any one role. The link to the CPS is that he was Police Magistrate twice, once in 1899 (succeeding Wodehouse), and again in 1907. He left Hong Kong in 1907.
