Sat 9th Feb: Boulder Trackway walk in Sai Kung

Submitted by Admin on Sun, 01/20/2013 - 18:32

Guy Shirra is leading a walk along one of the traditional 'Boulder Trackway' paths that pre-date the arrival of the British. Unfortunately I'll be out of Hong Kong that weekend, but it should be a good walk.

More about the boulder trackways: http://gwulo.com/node/4077

Details of the walk from Guy:

I will be doing a walk over Walk No 1 on Saturday 9 February:

Walk Guide: https://sites.google.com/site/hongkongbouldertrackways/documents -  scroll down to Heritage Walks

Date/Time:    Saturday 9 February form 1300 SHARP to approx 1600

Start Point: shelter east of Wong Nai Tau bus terminus, Siu Lek Yuen: http://hk.centamap.com/gc/centamaplocation.aspx?x=840517&y=827017&sx=840517.22&sy=827017.18&z=5&lg=en

Finish Point: Tin Hau Temple, Sai Kung Town (possibly via drink stop in Tan Cheung Upper Village Road :-)

Requirements: walking kit including shoes with a decent grip, water, camera, mobile phone, cash for post walk refreshment, change of clothes. (Metal tipped walking sticks on boulder trackways are NOT recommended!!)

It would be helpful if you could let me know who is coming but I will be doing this whatever the weather and whatever the numbers.

Non FSK (Friends of Sai Kung) members also welcome but they will be asked to sign up!

Best wishes,

Guy Shirra
