Stonecutters Albion Battery was Demolished in 1992
Dear All,
As I have checked different years aerial photos and topographic maps. I have found that the Albion Battery gun emplacements had been demolished in around 1992. A new building was built at that site. Before that, those areas were over-grown, however. we could see the gun emplacements quite clearly in 1963 aerial photo.
From the position of the gun emplacements, is the battery
function for in-land protection? It is impossible to turn 360 degrees as there are buildings behind those guns!
The green star is the engine room, however it is not shown in 1970 map and 1963 aerial photo.
Thanks!
