  • 1894: Proposed Bty for 2 x 6" BL guns.  (WO 78/4137).
  • 1901: Under construction.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1903: Under construction.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1904: 2 x 6" BL guns.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1905: 2 x 6" BL guns, 1 x M/G.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1906: 2 x 6" BL guns, 1 x M/G.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1907: 2 x 6" BL Mk VII guns, to be reduced.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1909: 2 x 6" BL guns mounted, but not approved.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1910: 2 x 6" BL guns mounted, but not approved.  (CAB 11/57).
  • 1911: Not listed.  (CAB 11/58).
  • 1915: There is an old Redoubt on top of Sywan Hill and an abandoned 6" Bty just north of the Redoubt.  (WO 32/5316).
  • 1920: By the mid 1920's, this site had been rebuilt as an AA Bty.  (Museum of Coastal Defence).
  • 1935: 2 x 3" 20 cwt AA guns.  (ADM 116/3490).
  • 1936: 2 x 3" 20 cwt AA guns.  (CAB 11/196).
  • 1939: 2 x 3" 20 cwt AA guns.  (WO 106/2379).
  • 1940: Site reworked for 2 x 4.5" HAA guns, which were never installed.  (WO 106/2379).
  • 1941: 2 x 3" AA guns. In action 8 - 18th December. Shelled and damaged 16th December. Overrun on night of landings on Island.  (WO 172/1687).
  • 1949: Site reworked for 4 x 3.7" HAA guns.  (WO 268/301).
  • 1957: Guns withdrawn after British Government decision to disband AA Regiments.  (WO 32/15525).
  • 2014: Ruins of buildings and gun positions remain.
