Timeline:

  • 1940: Constructed to the east of the existing AA battery for a proposed armament of 2 x 4.5" HAA guns.These were never supplied, and the site remained unoccupied.  (WO 106/2379).
  • 1949: A new position for 4 x 3.7" guns was constructed to the west of the 4.5" position, near the top 9.2" gun pit.  (WO 268/301).
  • 1950's: The 4.5" gun positions were used for bases of RAF aerials.
  • 1958: All HAA guns had been withdrawn from Hong Kong.  (WO 268/301).
  • 2015: Area abandoned and overgrown. Some of the 4.5" site buildings remain as ruins, and hold fast mounts still remain for three of the 3.7" gun positions.
