According to CLP's annual report from 1953, a substation was built on Cornwall Street in 1953 that year. Based on the stone walls, the building that still exists is likely the original.

Cornwall Road
At some point in the 1970s, the sign above the door read "Cornwall Road Substation". An obvious error, but I wonder how long it was there for?
