“DEATH OF MRS. MAUD WOODS

OLD RESIDENT OF KOWLOON

An old and highly respected resident of Kowloon passed away at Kowloon Hospital early yesterday morning in the person of Mrs. Maud Woods after a long illness. She was aged 79.

The deceased, who was devoted to charitable work especially in connexion with War Funds, is survived by five daughters Mrs. David Jenkins, Val, Aileen and Doris Woods and Mrs. Lenore Winfield.

The funeral will take place this morning passing the Monument, Happy Valley, at 11 o’clock.”

MRS. MAUD WOODS (Maud Fitz-Stubbs) at Kowloon Hospital early Sunday morning, 1st September, 1940. Dearly beloved mother of Mrs. David Dennis, Val Woods, Aileen and Doris Woods and Mrs. Lemore Winfield. No flowers by request, but her sweet thoughts were only of helping the War Funds. Funeral will pass the Monument at 11 a.m. Sept. 2nd. “Underneath are the everlasting arms.” Australian papers please copy.”
