In the course of my research I have found a file at the HKPRO (HKRS 41-1-1705) on Mabel Ablong (referred to as Mrs A.E. Ablong) and her children re. her struggle to seek relief from the Hong Kong Government following the war. The file includes several letters Mrs Ablong wrote to Lady Grantham, which make for quite poignant reading, as well as a copy of a letter to her from her youngest son. It seems that some of Mabel's family are or have been active on this site. If you are related to her please don't hesitate to contact me. I would be happy to pass on my scans of the documents and would love to know more about her and her husband.
