A useful record?
For me this is a useful comparative list of the contemporaries of my grandfather, C.E. Warren, newly arrived in Hong Kong in 1895 and who died in 1923. Some of his co-gunners like E.A.R. Sayer pre-deceased him and are recorded in Patricia Lim's Cemetery Inscriptions, others appear in the Jurors Lists and elsewhere. Perhaps the grandfathers or great-grandfathers of other readers also appear in this list or can be matched up with other entries on Gwulo.com - I have no idea what sort of permanent accommodation would have been available for new arrivals in the 1890s.
