Small single-storey building at 382 Nathan Road situated next to the Astor Theatre. First used by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) for the selling of Cash Sweep or Sweepstake tickets on special race meetings.
The Branch Office in Kowloon and its address is mentioned in HKJC advertisements in 1947 as public purchase of Cash Sweep tickets became popular. Ticket price $2.00. An example of such advertisement can be viewed in the China Mail dated 24 October 1947.
The building was later used as a Map Sales Centre by the Government's Survey & Mapping Office before its closure in November 1989 for the redevelopment of the site into a landscaped garden and construction of a new Map Sales Centre.
