The earliest mention of Murray Pier I can find is from 24th January 1880 when His Excellency Lau Kwan-Yih, late Viceroy of Kwangtung and Kwangsi and Viceroy elect of Two Kiang arrived with his entourage in Hong Kong, landing at Murray Pier. (Source)
Demolished due to the Central Reclamation of the 1890's. A new pier was built on the foreshore.

One more generation
The very first pier (named Government Wharf) was built probably in the mid-1860s already. It was made from ashlar granite, but due to this solid structure it did not survive the 1874 typhoon.
It was decided to rebuild the wharf in timber, it opened in April 1875. To save costs, it was built in a somewhat poor quality so it needed intensive repair in October 1880 already.
