Tenders for the construction of the current Fire Station on Hennessy Road near Canal Road were put out in September 1940. Guessing the Eastern Fire Station as it was known then at the time was completed in 1941. The Harrison Forman photos from 1941 showing Bowrington Canal and Wanchai Fire Station in the distance appear to confirm the completion date.
