FUNERAL                             

Miss M.C. Mooney

The funeral of the late Miss M.C. “Molly” Mooney, took place at the Colonial Cemetery, Happy Valley, yesterday afternoon. The Rev. Copley Moyle officiated at the graveside.

Miss Mooney who died on Thursday at Queen Mary Hospital after a long illness, was a member of a well-known local family and was for many years with Messrs. Hastings, and Company until the end of 1941. She was also a well known golf player in the Colony.

She is survived by her brother, Mr. A. Mooney, of the British Consulate of Macao.

Those present at the funeral were Messrs. F.A. Curreem, H.T. Barma, I.A. Madar, A. Madar, Frederick Wong, E. Brooks, Mrs. I.A. Madar, Mrs. I.L. Law and children, and  many others.  

Floral tributes were from Sisters Mabel, Greta, brothers Alfred and Phillip; Grace and Era, Maisie, Evelyn, George, Anita and Lenhy; Renee; Chas. L. Becker, Miss R. Phoon, Mother Wilehelmina and Hostel girls, Miss D. Blackstone, Mrs. A. Matthews, Ada and Williams and many others.

Buried: Hong Kong Colonial Cemetery, Grave Number 10267, Section 12A, Row 6, Number 17, Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong 30th March 1946

She is buried in the same plot as her mother Minnie Eunice Mooney (nee Glover) (4th June 1869-16th October 1935) whose Grave Number is 9550.

She was the sister of Frederick Edward Mooney who was also buried at the Colonial Cemetery.
