Remember it well from the mid- fifties when living within a tight budget because it was where I could get a large steaming bowl of chicken and sweet corn soup for HK$2.00 and leave the place with a very full stomach. When I was in funds later it was also a good place to eat and I would often often go there with friends. Wasn't it part of th old Shamrock Hotel?
In the same building but not part of the hotel. It used to serve good Shanghainese food not found these days, eg. Shredded srips of fresh water eels, tons of garlic. It may not be everyone's favourite but it is a Shanghainese classic for aficionado!
