A group of four medals,( 39_45 STAR,PACIFIC STAR ,WAR MEDAL with MID,plus RN Dockyard Long  Service medal to A.B.Allan), up for auction in U.K.,see The Saleroom,Police Medals.

He is mentioned in Barbara Anslows Diary 1945 and in Banham's Garrison List.

Born in 1885 he served in the Gordon Highlanders in the Great War and presumably joined the Dockyard Police shortly thereafter to earn his Long Service Medal  (15 years).Intriguingly his WW2 War Medal bears a Mention in Despatches emblem, I would be interested to know how and when he earned this ,during the battle or during internment ?

Could this be him? Alexander B Allan
