Round Island (also refered to as shoe island; due to its appearance as a shoe from certain angles) is an uninhabited island off the south coast of HK island. The island has no ferrys to it, but I have visited it a number of times sailing and teaching sailing courses from the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. It has a reasonably large beach on its north side.
The island has a small pier and an adjacent navigation beacon. As I recall, these structures are very hard to see unless you are on a boat within the vicinity of the island.
This island is known by many members of ABC and RHKYC as some ABC coaches once found bones on the island. These remains were apparently dropped there by local fisherman as part of some Haka tradition.

Re: Round Island
Hi There,
Are you talking about that whitish item on a big boulder with a small jetty in the foreground as shown in the first two (2) photographs of this page ?
That looked like a navigation beacon alright.
