A merchant & broker (Probably born in Denmark c.1850 and a relative of Hans Christian Andersen), Count Hans Kioer/Kiaer was married in Hong Kong in 1876 to Emily Charlotte Brereton (a daughter of William Henry Brereton- a lawyer in HK http://gwulo.com/node/21937). Their only child a son died in infancy, and apparantly, Hans Kioer/Kiaer committed suicide soon after, when his business failed. He is buried in Hong Kong.
