HKAAF/RHKAAF insignia

I have recently acquired a HKAAF other ranks cap-badge, which, I am told, dates from between 1949 and 1951, the dates which apparently mark respectively the creation of the HKAAF and its metamorphosis into the RHKAAF. The badge is the standard World War Two RAF pattern, very similar to that also used by the RAAF, the RCAF and the RNZAF. It has the pierced brass letters HKAAF within a wreath of leaves and a King's crown up top. I'd be happy to supply a photo should anyone wish.

I also have in my collection a much later RHKAAF cap badge showing the winged dragon and propeller device within an octagonal frame and a Queen's crown up top. My understanding is that this particular crest or coat of arms was approved by the College of Arms in 1975 or so.

With this in mind, I wonder whether any erstwhile "Auxies" out there know what badge was worn by other ranks of the RHKAAF from the time it came into being (1951 or thereabouts) until the point (1975 or thereabouts) when the winged dragon octagonal badge came into use. Incidentally, I also gather that there was at some point a HKWAAF, and I wonder if they too had a designated badge.

It would be particularly useful to me if anybody has (or can point me in the direction of) any relevant photographs of HKAAF/RHKAAF cap badges or other insignia which they could share.

I should add that I am very happy to stand corrected if any of the information that I have provided above (dates etc.) is wrong.

I look forward to all replies, and thank you all in advance.

You may try looking up Winged Dragon - The History of the RHKAAF or referring to this informative website here That said, it would be nice if you could post your photos of the cap badges.
