This was probably taken in the garden of Blarney Stone, a badly war damaged house just off the Victoria Road to the south of Mount Davis. Ken and his wife, Olga rented the property and had one wing renovated, leaving the South wing as a ruin. A small modern block of apartments with the same name now occupies that site.  Flt Lt, Peter George was training as a linguist, but he was also an accomplished novelist who initially wrote under a pseudonym, Peter Bryant.  His most famous novel, 'Two Hours To Doom', later retitled 'Red Alert' was published in 1958.  He left the R.A.F. in 1961.  Later he collaborated with Stanley Kubrick in turning his novel into a film script which became the classic film 'Dr Strangelove:  How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.' More on his life and work can be found on the Internet. (Andrew S)
