The friend I was hiking with pointed this out, written along the edge of the path:
KAAA & DOTP 1958
It refers to a program to improve life in the New Territories villages, which included laying these concrete paths. So this path was laid in 1958, and funded by the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association and the District Office, Tai Po.
