Variations of the rifle to be seen also scopes. For those savy with gear, have a look at my shoes. (Left) The standard issue was boot/combat sole. I actually wore a pair of Hush Puppy boots. These were the things that actually foiled the Gurkas who were sent to exercise/track us. They hunted us by the tread marks left by the combat boots but the smooth soles of the Puppies didn't leave marks on the ground as obvious. They didn't see me but got me back in other ways later. I have great respect for these gentlemen.

For a civilian boot they really were very good. On training days Bill the boss tried all sorts of things to get me out of these boots. ie; full kit up steep scree banks, downhill on slippy surfaces, climbing senarios the whole works and they still came thro. good. The smooth sole, no impression on ground, fooled the Gurkas tracking exercise until they realised what was going on then they got their own back. Even they became complacent in the exercise and took things for granted. But not now.
