Looking east towards present day Queensway. On the left is the Cricket Ground (fenced in portion). To the right, is the Parade Ground where the Hilton used to be. The tram tracks to the left of photo curve in towards today's Jackson Rd to meet up with Des Voeux Rd Central. The photographer would be standing where the former City Hall (now the old Bank of China Building) used to be.

Although we're not sure of the exact date that the photo was taken, it should be 1912 or later. You can see the tram in the photo is a double-decker with an open top, and these were first introduced in 1912. Before that all the trams were single-deckers.
