First Hungarian restaurant in Hong Kong and my first experience in having Hungarian cuisine. Friendly owner and chef.

Address: 1 D'Aguilar Street. (Corner of D'Aguilar and Stanley Streets, Central. Same location as Jimmy's Kitchen from the 1920s.)

Establishments: Mandarin Grill, Harbour Restaurant, Man Wah (Chinese Restaurant), Causette (Coffe Shop), Marquee (Snack, Restaurant), Captain's Bar, Chinnery (Men's Bar), Lookout (Lounge and Bar) and Clipper Lounge.

The men only policy at the Chinnery disappeared in 1990.

A nice place to go for late night. A favourite place for "tai tais" to chat.

A nice representation from a bygone era. The Excelsior Hotel was operated by the Trust Houses Forte International Ltd in association with with BOAC. "Good Care Everywhere".Still used by many airlines as a downtown city hotel.

Last day of operation 30 March 2019.

Show Boat Hotel

Quite a popular place in the 1960s. Quiet with a nice harbour view of Kai Tak. The Show Boat had replaced the Ritz but this area is still known by its former name.
