This low resolution image came off the internet some years ago.
If this is the rail-crossing noted in the title I can only assume that the railcar may be picking up passengers directly from a Liner and taking them to Fanling for golf or directly to Canton

The photo appeared in the Hong Kong Daily Press dated 4 May 1937.
The caption read: The Canton Belle, the Kowloon-Canton Railway's new luxury coach which had its first trial run yesterday.
(Update - The photo also appears on a signboard in the Hong Kong Railway Museum at Tai Po Market.)
