This pic, captioned "1945 Nurse quarter", appeared on eternal1966e's webpage on flickr recently.
The location can be estimated fairly precisely from the position of High West, the mountain in the background, relative to the ridge line that cuts its right flank. Here's a similar view today.
It's taken looking across Pok Fu Lam Road. That's Jessville under blue sheeting on the left of the photo undergoing renovation.
I think the site of the old "nurse quarters" is the vacant terrace where the crane is. If so, they were obviously demolished, but not recently as Google Streetview dated 2011 reveals another building occupied the site.
According to Google it was 140 Pok Fu Lam Road, but if you zoom in on the right side of the entrance (on Streetview, the quality of the screenshot here isn't good enough) it says "138".
I've called it 138 - 140 Pok Fu Lam Road to cover both possibilities.
The building in the last photo (now demolished) I believe has been standing there suibce at least the early 80's, when I used to pass by it in my school bus, on the way to and from home/school. I remember telling myself that I would like to live there one day, since it had a spectacular view of Lamma Island. Unfortunately, I never got the chance. Plus the new build that is currently being finalised there looks rather ugly, plus I would never be able to afford it.
