The Chinese Recreation Club at Causeway Bay was officially instituted with the opening of the Club's pavilion on 2 March 1912. The Club's formation began in earnest in 1910 by prominent members of the Chinese community. Thanks were given to the Queen's Recreation Ground Committee for the allotment and to the architect, Mr. Raven (likely Arthur Raven).
