Seaman aboard the Admiral Y.S. Williams, an American freighter in dry dock at Hong Kong in December 1941. Captured after the fall of Hong Kong on December 25, 1941. Interned at Stanley, where he worked in the camp kitchen. Repatriated in August 1942. From Whitehouse, New Jersey. After repatriation, joined OSS and deployed to the China-Burma-India theater.
