Does anyone have any information on Kathleen Moir or of her husband, whose first name I don't know? There is a mention of her in one of my grandfather's letters. It seems they moved into the house in which he had been living, perhaps at 6 Tregunter Mansions, Hong Kong, when my grandfather's family had been evacuated to Sydney. If you can help advise on who they were that would be very excellent. Thank you

There's a Kathleen Moir in the list of Stanley Internees:

Miss Kathlen Glover Moir, British, DoB:10.02.17, F, Stenographer, H& S Bank C

The fact she was interned in Stanley fits with living in a house that evacuees had moved out of, but the date of birth and the "Miss" don't match your record.

The 1941 Jurors List only has one man surnamed Moir, though I don't know if he was related to Kathleen or not:

c   Moir, Archibald Black Assistant Manager, Taikoo Dockyard & Engineering Co. of H.K., Ld. Quarry Bay.

Kathleen Moir was my mother and her father was Archie Moir. She was born in Port Glasgow on Feb 10, 1917 and died on Feb 25, 2007 in the UK. She was married to John Crichton McDouall, latterly Secretary for Chinese Affairs, at St. John's Cathedral on Mar 5, 1946.

My father was the son of missionary parents born on Apr 26, 1912, and his birth was registered in Tientsin (Tianjin). He died on Dec 13, 1979 in the UK.

I have only just come across this lovely site and will be uploading information and photographs in due course.
