Photographs of old Hong Kong and the tales they tell:
In, on, under and around Hong Kong harbour
In this talk we'll use the old photos to look at the harbour through the eyes of several different groups, including:
- The Royal Navy
- Local fishermen
- Overseas tourists
- Swimmers & sailors
I've chosen a selection of photos from my collection to tell these stories. Most of the photos were taken in the early years of the twentieth century, and show a Hong Kong that has long since disappeared. They have been scanned at high-resolution and digitally restored, so we can zoom in to see their hidden details.
I'll be hapy to answer any questions after the talk.
Time: 2:30pm, Saturday, 20th February, 2016.
Duration: The talk plus Q&A lasts for about one hour.
