Recommended for a Mention in Despatches in recognition of his devotion to duty. He was always willing to carry out any task, no matter what danger obtained, or how tired he was. After completing his duties on the Mainland, where he was attached to Lt. Tamworth completing the most forward blows, he returned to H.Q. where he became relief D/R to forward elements, special D/R to forward Companies and Fortress H.Q. He showed a coolness and daring which, in such a young man, inspired the remainder of his section. I cannot speak too highly of L/Cpl Eu.
