Richard Wong writes:

The Grantham Training College was established in 1951 and named after the then Hong Kong Governor, Sir Alexander Grantham. At the beginning, the College used the campus of King's College for teaching but later moved to Gascoigne Road in Kowloon in 1952.

The College specialised in training certified teachers for primary and junior secondary schools, and in the same year, a one year art programme was introduced.

The Grantham Training College was renamed as the Grantham College of Education in October 1967.

In 1994, the Northcote College Education (The Training College established in 1939, renamed in 1940), Grantham College Education (Grantham Training College established in 1951, renamed in 1967), Sir Robert Black College of Education (Third Training College established in 1960, renamed in 1961), Hong Kong Technical Teacher’s College and Institute of Language in Education were amalgamated into The Hong Kong Institute of Education.

This is a photo of the campus in 1998 according to the date printed on it. It is the front door of the college.There are other buildings hidden behind it. It is from their official web page:

Another photo probably in the 60s when Bruce Lee was making a movie there. See the photo at the lower left corner which was taken after 1998. Note that the mascot has changed to that of Pui Ching education centre though the building remained the same.

The upper left photo shows the Methodist primary school (the tall white building, 1994-2011,it was the primary school, 2011-now, it is part of methodist college) on the left, its downhill neighbor. The right side is Methodist college, a middle school.

The upper right photo shows Methodist college again with Bruce Lee and some other guy. Lower right photo is the parking lot of Grantham college.

All these buildings still exist today. Apparently the front building facade has been modified but the 3D google map view still shows essentially the same buidings many years ago. Pui Ching education centre has moved away and QE hospital has taken over the campus.

Grantham college actually had two wings. Some of the above pictures show the front door of the old wing which was like 2-storey high with a parking lot in front of it. Some others show the other buildings behind it.

====================================

This is the floor plane of the college from their 1991 handbook. The wing on the lower left corner is labelled the new wing.

A 1976 overhead view showing both old and new wings. That means the new wing was built between 1972 and 1976.

=======================================

After Grantham college moved to Tai Po, the old wing was occupied by the Pui Ching education center and the new wing occupied by Methodist primary school until in 2011 the primary school moved somewhere else. It was taken over by the Methodist college. Most recently they were taken over by the QE hospital behind them.

This photo shows the former methodist primary school. It has been taken over by the methodist college after 2011. From the school wiki:

East Wing : The Methodist School (Primary) moved from Gascoigne Road to Wylie Road in 2011. Together with some of the new wing of the Grantham Institute of Education, it was handed over to the Methodist Secondary School (methodist college) and named the East Wing. In 2011-2012, the second floor of the old wing of Methodist School was lent to the sixth grade of Methodist Secondary School, and the rest was handed over to the church (the part between he 6-story new wing of primary school and the church).

How it looked like inside. Looking east with buildings of Queen Elizabeth hospital in the background.

It shows the basketball court. So the main entrance and parking lot are on the right.

The taller building on the right should be the "new wing".

Again showing the basketball court. Main entrance and parking lot are on the right.
