The school was founded in Canton in 1890. In 1933, the Hong Kong branch was opened in Ho Man Tin.

By the way, the school still exists. It used to be a so called "famous school" in Hk strong in the sciences. It produced one Nobel physics winner and a few world class scientists. One of them was the first president of Hong Kong university of science and technology.

pui ching road
The road where the school is on is called "Pui Ching Road" for the obvious reason the school was the most prominent structure on that short road. On the north side of the road was the sole Kowloon branch of the registration of persons office until 1971 when it moved to Canton road and the opening of a new branch at San Po Kong. Nowadays it is still the location of a government office issuing driving licenses and the roads in its neighborhood used for road tests. Following is a 1970 picture of the office with Pui Ching road in the foreground. Note that it has been demolished but the structures A and B are still visible on 2009 Google map.
pui ching school
Picture of the school from the school web site. It just says "primary school in the past". The date should be before 1984 when there was a basketball court next to the petrol station. It later became the Kowloon Public library. The fact that there was still no traffic on Pui Ching Road implies the Fat Kwong street flyover across Chatham Road was still not active. The date would be pushed back to pre-1965. If we look at the corner at the Pui-Ching road-Waterloo road junction, the building (called building A) is no longer there. It was replaced by the Dr Lam Chi Fung memorial hall built in 1998.
The 7-storey 90-aniversary building D was built in 1979 which is absent in this picture. It therefore is consistent with the above estimates.
The road with cars is Waterloo road. The road on the left is Pui Ching road. The picture should be looking in the south-east direction. The gate at the corner still exists today.
