Miss Franklin was taken from a military hospital to an internment camp after the Japanese captured Hong Kong. In captivity, she recorded her experiences in a tapestry on her nurse's apron.
Another artifact : https://gwulo.com/media/45535 - According to the collection records of the Institute of Naval Medicine in the UK, it can be seen that Miss Franklin's secret embroidery received signatures from her friends in the Stanley Civilian Internment Camp.
