This photo is obviously a studio shot, either in Kowloon or Hong Kong about 1898. Seated are William Mitchel Thomson, who worked for the Water Dept, or Public Works with his wife Harriet seated beside him. In the back row were their children left to right Edie, Katie, Willie, and Nellie. In the second row are my grandmother Maud at left, then Lily, and on the far right side, their daughter Harriet ( Toodie ) Seated on his father's lap is Fred and the lying on the floor is their dog "Boxer" I believe William Mitchel Thomson died about 1901 in HK and is buried at Happy Valley. Some of the girls married merchant seamen and moved to the San Francisco area. Maud married Tobias Hunter in Hong Kong in 1908 and later moved to Shanghai. She died in 1929 in San Francisco while visiting her sisters.
