Tom Cashman was Sergeant 76 in the HKP and at the time of the Japanese invasion was attached to CID HQ.
In the HKP War Diary he was commended, with others, by Assistant Superintendent F.W. Shaftain, Director of CID for excellent work during the hostilities prior to the surrender of the Colony.

Thomas junior - Born 16.6.1911 ( H.K. ? ) enlisted 2.9.1932 as PC later L/Sgt A 76,Assistant Superintendent 1.11.1949 Senior Supt 1.11.1957, retired to Ireland,died 1989 in Cork.
