Goodwin was described by Wright-Nooth as a Sergeant, whereas he was a Sub-Inspector who before internment was in charge of CID in Yaumati Division.

My uncle Charles Henry Goodwin was a Sub Inspector in the Hong Kong Police and was captured by the Japanese and was first put into Mee Chow Hotel Room 519
After which he was interned in Stanley pow Camp. In the book 'Prisoner of the Turnip Heads'it states he worked as a chief cook in the prison along with the other chief cook called Goldie. He died or was killed in the prison at the age of 44 and is buried in Stanley Military Cemetery. If anyone remebers him please let me know.
