Biographical Sketch: Harrison J. Mullett (1892-1972) taught dentistry and served as a missionary in China. He attended the Regina Normal School and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Toronto. He was appointed to China in 1917 to serve on the staff of the West China Union University. He was interned in a prisoner-of-war camp in from 1941 to 1943. He returned to China from 1945 to 1950. Upon his return to Canada, he joined the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto.
Son John Harrison Mullett born Chengdu c1919 also a dentist. Major in the Canadian Dental Corps and was the Regimental Dentist for the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry in Italy and Holland during the Second World War. See www.albertaonrecord.ca/john-harrison-mullett-fonds

1940 was the year that many western women were evacuated from Hong Kong. Most we hear of went to Australia, so it's interesting to hear of the Mulletts evacuating to Canada.
The repatriation from Hong Kong in 1943 was mostly made up of Canadians, see:
