I believe this is the site where the Latter Day Saints church currently stands - #2 Cornwall St. The road at the side is a small road that now leads to Violet Court and the Cornwall St road sign is in that position because it is visible to drivers as they leave Devon Road on the opposite side of the street. There is still a street sign in that position today.
Given what stands on the site now, it makes me really feel nostaligic for the past...

Kowloon Tsai (Tong) was certainly a real retreat from the hustle and bustle back then. To some degree it still is of course.
