I was rifling through bins of old photos in a flea market in Brighton (UK) last weekend and found three portaits taken aboard Hong Kong - Canton steamers around 1900. One depicts Captain Lossius and his wife aboard the SS Kinshan, the other two depict Captain AW Dixon aboard the paddle steamer SS Sainam. Dixon also served as captain of SS Fatshan. A newspaper article I found online describes a pirate attack on the Sainam, in 1906, which Dixon was seriously wounded. I have uploaded them here: http://flic.kr/p/cazYkjhttp://flic.kr/p/c8ZAW3
I assume that JJ Lossius and his wife Agnes are the same couple listed (on your website) as a residents of St George House in 1920. They must also be the same Lossius and wife Agnes buried in Happy Valley, though the name on the headstone is IJ Lossius, not JJ. I suspect Jacob reverted to the Latin form of his name, as this is the form he used in an article he wrote for a 1907 Christian Scientist article.
Excellent. Thanks. Please feel free to take copies of the photos for your website. I have uploaded full-size 800 dpi scans to Flickr or I can email them to you.

Those photos are a good find - thanks for letting us know about them.
I've made pages for Dixon and Lossius in case any more information turns up.
