Frederick BRAUN? (aka "Fred Brown") [????-????]
“Fred Brown” was a long-term resident of Stanley, and something of a local identity in the neighbourhood. He was a gentle, nature-loving, amateur botanist who seemed to be quite content living a life devoid of any of the conspicuous trappings of material “success”. I first became aware of him during the late 1950’s when my family move to live on the northern edge of Stanley Main Beach; and I would often notice him having his regular early morning swims there. He walked just about everywhere, and I never saw him riding in any private motor vehicle.
