I am trying to trace my recently deceased mother´s history and I believe she attended Royden House in the 1947/1949 period. Her name was Lillian Wong Sut Lam. If anyone can help me, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Greg,
I am trying to trace my recently deceased mother´s history and I believe she attended Royden House in the 1947/1949 period. Her name was Lillian Wong Sut Lam. Do you have any suggestions ?
I´m just looking for classmates, year of attendance, photos. The Royden House address would also be useful. Thank you.

Neither. I am one of the sisters. Let me have your email address and I will forward it to Humphrey. Is your sister Melan?

Yap it's me - Ian and Tyron is my brother. My sister Neila was the one who was helping Mrs Rudge in the office. That was when we were in Kennedy Road.

I was reading the forum and some names got confused. I think in our class there were 2 Mario. One is Mario Garcia (portugese) and Mario Claudia (philipino) who has a sister called Maria.

The hockey goal keeper is Wesley Lo Kar Shing. I also remember Jatim Patel who was a good friend of Eduardo Maher. Then there was Vincent Da Costa and Gerald Sutherland who went to Australia and join the army. We correspondent a while back then.

Keep in touch. My email iank_2000@yahoo.com

Do you mean Peter Wong who was friends wth Henry Ma? I am Peter's sister and I was at Royden House when the school was located in Happy Valley, with offsite classes held in Wan Chai and Kennedy Road. I moved to the States after HS.

Please identify yourself. Peter is my older brother, he lives in Canada. He was very good friends with Henry Ma. I am in Los Angeles, CA. We lost contact with Henry Ma after high school. Would be nice to reconnect with him. Pls. email me off list directly. I'll get you hooked up with Peter if he knows you. Thanks.

If not mistake, we were at the same class and he lived in St George Mansion on the Kowloon side.

I attended Royden House in the late 1960s. I remember Mrs. Rudge. I do not live in Hong Kong anymore, but am planning to visit HK next year. Is there a Royden House Alumni that I can contact? I would really like to connect with some of my former classmates.

Hey, I see some familiar names.  I remember Fiona.  You were in my class and sat up front with Mario.  I was in the back with Wesley, Mike Vas (BC Canada now) and Chris Reis (Australia).

I am in the Seattle area now.

anyone know what happened to Eddie Maher?  Mario Garcia?

I do remember Ian and his sister that worked in the school.

we were such thugs back then.   LOL!

Hi Vincent!

I'm Marian and my brother, Mario are in Australia . We've been here more than  30 odd years. Eddie is still in HK.  Angie Marcal  is in the Us and not sure about the others.

Good old days in Royden House!

No, the gym closed down a long time ago, but during the 80's and 90's it was THE place for budding and veteran HK action stars to do their stuff. Anyway, thanks for replying. I don't know Eddie personally but was a big film fan at the time.

Glad to have come across your name and your brother.....it's been so, so long. Are you on Facebook? I found Vince da Costa on Facebook last year and met up with him over Thanksgiving in 2011. I see Eddie Maher's name but no contact info we use to walk home from school together with a whole crowd of us who lived on Austin Avenue around Escola Camoes....those were the days!!!!

Vince!!!  Hey there :)  Yes, Mario was up front because the teachers wanted to keep an eye on him LOL  Not sure why I was up front but I always got picked on to read out loud!!!

I had the biggest crush on Mike ;)

Hi Anna,

Henry Marcal is retired and lives in Reno, Nevada. Sister Angela lives in Pacifica, Calif. Gisela Souza is my sister.

Hope this helps.

I was at the MacDonnell Rd flats location, then later at the "HK Music Academy" up the road. Left HK for the US in 1970. Have fond memories, especially of Isabel, since I was her 'enforcer.' Had some of the nicest classmates from Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Cambodia, S Vietnam, Ecuador, US, Thailand, Burma. One name I cannot forget is Tavachai Kosicharoen (spelling?). Have forgotten most others sadly.
