One consequence of this aircraft being parked outside next to the noxious Kai Tak nullah was that it started to suffer badly from corrosion caused by fumes emitted from the nullah. The HKAAF hanger and facilities were then closer to the terminal area where the nullah surfaced before they moved to new premises at the other end of the runway near the taxiway bridge. IDJ

Well it was not only the Kai Tak nullah that caused corosion to the Spitfire but also to the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force aircraft as well. This was before the move to the south-eastern part of the airport.
