It was a bridge across the Wong Nai Chung Nullah, the road that led over it was named Leighton Hill Road (today only Leighton Road). The area was reclaimed in the 1860s and Bowrington Canal was constructed and finished in 1864. This might also be the construction date of this bridge. The bridge can be seen on the 1866 map on Gwulo.

The bridge was likely demolished when the nullah and Bowrington Canal were covered.
