Philomena Josephine Silva was better known as Sister Mary Reginald. She served the Maryknoll Sisters and went to South China in 1925.

Sister Mary Reginald was in Hong Kong during the Japanese invasion and had been residing at Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong. On 8 February 1942, eighteen Sisters of the school including Sister Mary Reginald were interned at Stanley Camp.

She was released from camp in June 1942 and repatriated to the United States.
