Born Ebe Anita Rizzardi. She later changed her name to Sister Mary Gonzaga Rizzardi (as noted on the Gripsholm passenger manifest). Sister Mary Gonzaga served the Maryknoll Sisters and was assigned to South China in 1930.
After serving in various mission stations, Sister Mary Gonzaga was in Hong Kong during the Japanese invasion. She had been residing at Maryknoll Convent School in Kowloon Tong. On 8 February 1942, eighteen Sisters of the school including Sister Mary Gonzaga were interned at Stanley Camp.
She was released from camp in June 1942 and repatriated to the United States.
Sister Mary Gonzaga returned to Hong Kong in 1946 and left six years later in 1952.
