This is the rose decoration embossed on the back of the inkwell belonging to my grandfather, C.E. Warren. The front carries his initials and there are ornamental silver dragons on each side. I was interested that my grandfather chose to combine the English rose with the typically Chinese chrysanthemum on the lid to express his dual loyalties.
